This Friday 3 May 2024 the re-enactment of the Landing of the Madonna delle Grazie on the beach of Nettuno, which took place in 1550, took place.
Celebration in which Neptune re-embraces, as it does every year, the statue of Our Lady of Grace arriving from the sea. One of the most eagerly awaited events ever for Neptune’s citizens.
The celebration is organized by the Association La Stella del Mare A.P.S., an important local entity that since 2009 has been committed to representing and enhancing the richness and historical memory of the City of Neptune.
President Gianfranco Rabini issued a statement introducing this year’s event:
“It is an event, that of the Landing, which in an era characterized by indifference, superficiality and loss of values, helps us understand what we have been and what we must be: a solid and cohesive community, proud of its roots and capable of recognizing itself in them.
The Landing Reenactment is history, tradition and culture as well as an expression of a great love of the people of Neptune for Our Lady of Grace.”
